Yu Hairui

Yu Hairui, Ph.D., Professor, doctoral supervisor, graduated from Huazhong Agricultural University in 1990 with a bachelor’s degree in agriculture, and postgraduated from Ocean University of China in 2003 and 2006 with a Master’s Degree of Science in Agriculture and a Doctor of Philosophy in Science, respectively. From July 1990 to August 2000, he had worked as an assistant engineer and engineer in Weifang Zhongji Feed Co., Ltd. Since July 2006, he has been a lecturer, associate professor and professor of Weifang University, and is currently the dean of the Institute of Modern Facility Fisheries. In 2013, he was selected as one Person of the Introduction Support Plan for High-level Innovative and Entrepreneurial Talents in Weifang City, and in 2015, he was selected as the TaiShan Industrial Experts Programme in Shandong Province. He is also a researcher of Shandong Freshwater Fisheries Research Institute and Guangxi Institute of Oceanography, a doctoral supervisor of G.B. Elyakov Pacific Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry, Far East Branch, Russian Academy of Sciences, and a postgraduate supervisor of Shanghai Ocean University, Guangxi Minzu University, Shandong University of Technology and Tianjin Agricultural University. Part-time Academic job as such one member of the Professional Committee of Aquatic Animal Nutrition and Feed Science of China Society of Fisheries, director of Shandong Zoological Society, director of Shandong Society of Fisheries and Position Expert of Weifang Science and Technology Think Tank.

Professor Yu has long been engaged in research in the field of healthy aquaculture of modern facility fisheries, and has undertaken more than 30 major national, provincial and ministerial science and technology projects and international cooperation projects. Focusing on the construction of aquatic green industry chain for top-level design, he led the scientific research and innovation team, and after nearly 20 years of continuous research, he innovatively researched salmon and trout offspring seedling breeding, nutrition metabolism and quality control technology, multiple vaccine formulations, intelligent recirculating aquaculture system equipment and technology, set up quality and safety management system for pollution-free aquatic products, created a new model of land and sea relay aquaculture and overcome the core technical troublesome issue of salmon and trout industry chain. Especially, it is the first time to conduct the research of the main nutrient requirements and the bioavailability of feed ingredients for coho salmon, and establish the nutritional database and design the nutrition strategy to effectively improve the meat quality of coho salmon, and on the above basis, he has researched & developed the special environment-friendly and high-effective feed which gain a series of original achievements. He has co-built 7 provincial and ministerial scientific research and innovation platforms and more than 20 production, teaching and research practice bases. So far, he has established 11 innovative scientific and technological enterprises and cultivated 7 high-tech enterprises, and many achievements have been industrialized and popularized.

Professor Yu Hairui has published more than one hundred academic papers, of which more than fifty have been published in SCI journals and EI, and participated in editing and translating one work. He also set eighteen standards, applied for more than 100 patents, of which more than 70 were authorized. He obtained 26 software copyrights, and his related achievements have won the nomination for one State Science and Technology Prize for the First Prize in the Natural Sciences of the Ministry of Education and five Natural Science Awards and Science and Technology Progress Awards. He has also won the Labor Medal for People Enrichment and Weifang Revitalization, the Most Beautiful Scientific and Technological Worker of Kite City and other honorary titles.
