Xiao Chen

Professor Xiao Chen is a native of Dengzhou, Henan Province, China. He received Ph.D. degree from Xi'an Jiaotong University, Xi'an, China, in 2003. He was a postdoc researcher in Otto Von Guericke University Magdeburg, Deutschland, from 2004 to 2005. He was a visiting scholar in Imperial College London, U.K., from 2015 to 2016. He is a professor in Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology, Nanjing, China. He is the founder and the chairman of Xiaoyang Electronic Science and Technology Co., Ltd. in China. His research interests are acoustical signal processing, imaging, image processing, intelligent information processing, etc. He mainly engages in teaching, research, and industry-university-research cooperation promotion in the fields of electronic information industry, low altitude information technology industry, and so on. He has published one book and more than 130 refereed articles in conference proceedings and journals and a textbook. 30 of them are SCIE-indexed articles. The most cited article has been cited more than 120 times. He held more than 70 patents. His over 10 patented technologies have been applied and have achieved good economic and social benefits. He took charge of more than 20 projects and programs, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He is a senior member of the IEEE, a senior member of the China Electronics Society, and a member of the China Acoustic Society.

Prof. Xiao Chen was honored the High-level Entrepreneurial Talents of Zijin Mountain Talent Pioneer project" of Liuhe District of Nanjing of China in 2022, the Sci-tech Vice President of Jiangsu Province of China in 2022, the 333 High-level Talents of Jiangsu Province of China in 2016, the High-level Talents of "Six Talents Peak" of Jiangsu Province of China in 2014, and the young academic leader of "Qing Lan project" of Jiangsu Higher Education Institutions in 2010. He is the author of top articles in 2023 Outstanding S&T Journals of China (Frontrunner 5000, i.e., high-cited papers ranked top 1%).

Prof. Xiao Chen was awarded the China Industry-University-Research Cooperation Innovation Award of China Industry-University-Research Collaboration Association in 2024, the first prize of Invention Entrepreneurship Award of China Association of Inventions in 2023, the second prize of Teaching Achievement Award of Jiangsu Province of China in 2013, the third prize of Science and Technology Award of China National Light Industry Council in 2023, the third prize in the fourth Entrepreneurship Competition of Liuhe of Nanjing of China in 2022, the first prize of the second High-Value Patent Cultivation Competition of Nanjing Jiangbei New Area in 2022, the first prize of the first High-Value Patent Cultivation Competition of Nanjing Jiangbei New Area in 2020, etc.
