Prof. Liping Yang has long been engaged in basic and clinical research on the treatment of immune diseases through the combination of traditional Chinese and Western medicine, as well as the construction of the one health industry chain. Prof. Yang has made remarkable achievements in the development of new drugs through medical summary of clinical experience, evidence-based translation, and reverse innovation. Based on the systematic study of the treatment of psoriasis with TCCM, a new natural plant drug, he proposed relevant theories and made achievements as below: First, by studying the multi-level, multi-target and multi-target regulation of the human body by various components of drugs, he proved the mechanism of the traditional Chinese medicine theories of "unity and integration of the body" and "evidence-based treatment" on the human body at the microscopic level; Second, through clinical observation and experimental research, he proposed the theory of "the essential correlation between the etiology, pathology and pathogenesis of allergic dermatitis, including atopic dermatitis, eczema, neurodermatitis and psoriasis, etc." (see invention patent for details).

Prof. Yang takes "keeping the right innovation and breaking the bottleneck" as the new drug research and development idea for a long time, and has always adhered to the direction of modernization, industrialization and internationalization of traditional Chinese medicine under extremely difficult conditions. Prof. Yang has led and completed strategic emerging industry regional gathering development key projects and several national major scientific and technological special projects, as well as a number of major scientific and technological special projects of Guangdong and Guangzhou. Prof. Yang independently created the world's first natural plant small molecule new drug for psoriasis, which filling the global gap in this type of drug. He has obtained two patents for inventions from 35 developed countries in the world; two certificates for five types of new drugs in Chinese traditional medicine, as well as drug production licenses, drug production documents and pilot varieties of the Drug Listing Licensee System; and the approval of the U.S. clinical trial of a new drug (Phase IIb), which has already been completed with promising efficacy. In addition, he has studied and formulated a draft of "New International Standard for Evaluating Efficacy of New Drugs in the Treatment of Psoriasis", and the relevant new drug is in the U.S. phase III clinical trial of a new drug.

Prof. Yang also received the 14th China Patent Excellence Award, the 15th China Patent Excellence Award, the Important Technical Achievement Award of the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China for Major Scientific and Technological Projects, the 6th China Overseas Chinese Contribution (Innovation Achievement) Award, the Gold Award of Guangdong Patent, and the Second Prize for Scientific and Technological Advancement in Traditional Chinese Medicine of Guangdong Province.

Prof. Yang hopes to explore new paths for the transformation of scientific and technological innovation achievements in natural plants (traditional Chinese medicine) with more international academic peers in the future, and promote high-quality economic development of the biopharmaceutical industry.
